Does An Unremarkable CT Scan Suggest Chiari I Disappearance Despite Past Symptoms?
I was diagnosed with mild Chiari I two years ago on an MRI, due to headaches and numbness in my face and hands. I had a CT scan yesterday and the results say paranasal sinuses and mastoid air cells are unremarkable. I’m very happy to hear that, but does that mean my Chiari I just went away and my symptoms are not related to it!?
Chiari malformation does not go away. It means that the radiologist didn't notice this element, as the CT scan is not so accurate for Chiari malformation compared to the MRI.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
