Does Anxiety Cause High BP?

I am a 47 year old healthy male. Whenever my physician takes my blood pressure it is pre-hypertensive. When I take it at home it is normal to high normal. I think I get anxious. Would taking a small amount of triazolam give a more realisitic bp reading by lowering my anxiety?

Yes, anxiety or whenever few patient visit doctor their blood pressure elevated and this is normal , usually don't require any treatment ,but all depend on the value ot blood pressure .
As you mentioned that trizolam will be a realistic for BP .
No doubt trizolam will relieve blood pressure ( if it is due to anxiety ).
This is a drug causes addiction and produces sedation , drowsiness , so be careful about these side effects.
Please get in blood for cholesterol level as well as ECG to rule out any heart involvement because of age factor ( 47 yrs ).
Regular exercise also help in anxiety cases .
Tension is one of the most important cause responsible for high blood pressure .
I recommend you visit a physician and get his opinion.
