Does Appearance Of Green Balls Following Laser Eye Surgery Require Medical Attention?

My mom told me the other day when she was driving she saw two green balls in front of her eyes. They went away after five minutes. She is 78 yrs old and had eye surgery during the summer.it was laser surgery where they put tiny hole in the eye to decrease pressure from building up.should she go back to the eye doctor.

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
It seems from the history that your mother is having colored halos in the form of green balls following a laser surgery to decrease the intraocular pressure.
This indicates that your mother has probably undergone peripheral iridotomy for narrow angle glaucoma.
The recurrence of colored halos indicate that the intraocualr pressure is not under control and it has caused corneal edema which has caused colored halos. Hence she requires evaluation by ophthalmologist preferably a glaucoma specialist for examination and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
