Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Looking for signs of a stroke. I am45 and have been told that a have suffered 2 strokes this yr. I have an arachnoid cyst over my left eat, could this have anything to do win the strokes? They tell me know but I can not find ,much info on arachnoid cysts. Can you help me?
Thanks for your question. Signs of stroke include changes in speech, such as slurred speech, difficulty finding words, confusion, motor deficits such as gait imbalance, weakness of one arm, leg or one side of the body, facial asymmetry, and with posterior strokes vertigo, nausea, balance problems, gait disturbance.
Arachnoid cysts are usually not associated with increased risk of stroke. I suggest seeking a consultation with a neurology stroke specialist; you may require specific brain imaging such as MRA or an angiogram.
Hope this helps wish you the best,
