Does Blurred Vision Caused By Complications Post C-section Delivery Get Cured On Its Own?

My daughter delivered via emergency C section 7 weeks early. When she awoke in the recovery room she couldn t see - her vision was very blurry in both eyes. She ended up with severe HELLPS after being hospitalized for pre-eclampsia which turned into eclampsia. She ended up on temporary dialysis, blood transfusions and platelet transfusions. All that is good. Her blood pressure has come down now with no drugs needed after 3 months since her delivery. She was not a high blood pressure person before. Just started in 3rd trimester. Okay, my question is - will her eye sight become better on it s own? She has been to see an optometrist and referred to a retina specialist - both saying it will take time. Should we be contacting any other eye doctor for help? Or wait and be patient? Thank you.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

High blood pressure can cause fluid build up in the Retina and is called exudatibe retinal detachment and it get okay on its own with time . So I advise you to be patient.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
