Does Boric Acid Vaginal Suppository For Recurrent Vaginal Infection Cause Infertility?

I have reoccurring BV and started vaginal capsules of boric acid prescribed by my Dr. and instructed to insert one after intercourse. I am going to be trying to get pregnant and I am concerned about possible side effects or impact on fertility or sperm?

Hi

You can go for a vaginal swab to rule out infections like yeast or bacterial vaginosis. Recurrent infection can lead to conditions like pelvic inflammatory disease and may lead to infertility.
Boric acid generally cause irritation and infection and infertility is unlikely.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
