Hi I have fallen 2 years ago on my right side of buttox really hard while scateboarding. I got a big bruse, but never went to see a doctor. Now 2 years after fall I have some burning and num sensation in my muscles that seems to spread to my thigh and upper back on the same side. Could you please tell me what it is and advise me what would be best to do. Thank you

Hello,

You have history of a fall while skateboarding two years back, then you did not take any treatment though you got a big bruise (R side of the buttocks). Presently you are suffering from burning sensation and numbness on the thigh and upper back of the same side. It appears like you are suffering from meralgia paresthetica, compression of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve, causing pain, numbness and tingling on the outside of the thigh.

Other medical conditions that can cause similar symptoms are muscle strain, neuropathy, diabetic neuropathy, sciatica, etc. You are suggested to maintain a heathy diet, take home made balanced food rich in vitamin B6, B12, minerals and proteins. You can also take supplements good for the nerves like nerve up OD. Maintain heathy weight, lose excess weight, exercise regularly, do walking both morning and evening.

If diabetic, control your blood glucose level at all cost. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a Neurologist, get all nerve conduction tests, neurological examination, imaging tests (CT /MRI) done. You may be asked to get biopsy (nerve and skin) done if needed. You will be treated accordingly with conservative treatment and treatment with Physical therapy.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
