Does Cashew Nuts Cause Blood In Stool?

Can to many cashew nuts give you blood in your stool? I went to the bathroom to release my bowls without strain after eating to many cashews nuts the day before, and the toilet had blood as well as the toilet paper. I had rectal bleeding. Did this occur from the nuts?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
rectal bleeding is a matter of concern
It might not be related to eating of cashews only.
In my opinion you should consult a general surgeon for per rectal examination or proctoscopy or an colonoscopy if need be, to establish a cause of rectal bleeding

Meanwhile try to avoid constipation by taking laxatives or stool softeners like liquid paraffin
Have lots of dietary fibers and fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet.

Hope this answers your question
Best wishes
