Does Change In Diet For A Child Effect The Bowel Movement?

Hi,

We introduced Sapota/Chiku (Sapodilla) in our 8-month old daughter's diet recently. Post that, we've observed black stools whenever we give her a slice of the fruit. Previous to this she was started on a Iron supplement but that had no effect on the colour of stools.

Is this expected?

Thanks.

Hi

It is expected and there is no cause to be worried about.
If the baby is excepting feeds well, there is no distension of abdomen then there is no cause for concern.
