Does Cleft Palate Surgery Have Any Risks?

My daughter Shalini Daw, age 13 years is having Otorhoea in her left year. She was born with clef palete by birth and was operated at the age of 6 monthsat Apollo, Chennai. I want to know whether there is any danger if surgery is done ? What precautions should she take ?

helo thanks for consulting at hcm..50% of cleft palate children have otorhea,,you need to consult a cleft palate reconstruction team, they will in detail explain the procedure how the surgery will be done,, dont worry they will tell what precaution to be taken,, smile train an ngo has done extensive work in cleft lip and palate recontruction worldover, check whether your city has this,, kindly consult a cleft reconstruction or oral maxillofacial surgeon or a plastic surgeon ,,,hope it helps,,take care,,
