hi doc , i had irregular periods and wanted to conceive hence my gynac suggested me to first have meprate 2 tabs for 5 days which lead to menestration 7 days after then she started with letroz 2.5 mg 2 tabs for 5 days which she told me to continue for 4 more days after follicular study then my egg ruptured on 16 day and she told us before on 8 and 9 th day to have relation and also on the day 16 after egg ruptured my endometrium shows 12 mm lutenised and now she told me to start cap susten 200 mg 2 tabs vaginally for 15 days ....i m very much scared as my first delivery was normal and didnt have such medications can this procedure lead to birth defects or are there chances of twins by this method ? are there chances for me to conceive safely
Hi, The Letrazole your doctor has prescribed for induction of labor does not harm the baby. Don't worry. Susten is progesterone. This is prescribed if there is progesterone deficiency or if you have had repeated miscarriages before. This is also not known to cause harm to the baby.
Yes there is a chance of having twins with Letrazole. However the risk is not very high. Normally the chance of conceiving twins is 1-2%. With Letrazole it is 3.4%. Definitely you have more chances of conceiving a single bay. With Letrazole your chances of delivering a baby are around 28% provided semen analysis and fallopian tube patency tests are normal.
To increase your chances of conception maintain normal BMI, quit smoking ( if you're a smoker) and have intercourse at least three times in a week.
