Does Constipation And Severe Pain In The Rectum Need Immediate Medical Attention?

My husband has a history of enlarged prostate. Lately hes had terrible constipation and stabbing pain inside the rectum as of tonight. Im giving him fiber so soften his stool. Im also gong to make something for him to drink that will help. Should he see a doctor tonight?

Hello,

The severity of the problem depends on how days he is constipated. I suggest laxative and Buscopan medicines for the pain. If he does not feel better, then go to the Emergency room.
