Does Constipation Cause Spasms And Soreness In My Lower Back?

My husband went to a doctor yesterday he is constipated and his lower back hurt and was having spasm ain his back dr. did xray and said that she felt he pulled a mussel and recomened over the counter med for the constipation he took it yesterday and today and he went both days the spasms went away his lower back is still sore do you think the spasm was caused by the constipation

Hi. The said symptoms do get aggravated by constipation and relief from constipation does help to get a relief from low-backaches. Spasm is accentuated by the constipation.
