Does Consulting A Sexologist Help In Increasing Libido?

hi..I have been married for the last 6 years and have a very loving & doting husband...also have an adorable 1 year old son...Inspite of this, my husband (33 years) has lost all interest in sex...In last 12 months, we must have done it maybe only 12 times! I have a high sex drive (despite of motherhood), and its exact opposite with my husband...I have discussed this issue at length with him, but all he says is tht he just doesnt feel like doing it....Will seeing a sexologist help..?

Hi
Yes,of course this will be helpful. These problems are treatable with adequate medical work up to find possible reasons and treating them. The reasons can be hormonal imbalance, Stress, fatigue, depression, life style issue or other relational issues so Active participation of both the partners is a must

Urologist Dr. Dr. P. T. Patil's  Response
Hello
Thanks for query .
the problem of loss of libido and erectile dysfunction that yourhusband has can resolved provided you consult Urologist and get followingtest done to rule out any organic cause for his ED.
1) Serum Testosterone
2) Blood Sugar levels to rule out diabetes
3) Thyroid hormone assessment .
4) Color Doppler ultrasound scanning of penis to rule out any vascula insufficiency as a cause for his ED.

If above test results rule out any organic cause for his E.D then it can be considered to be Psychogenic in nature and can be cured with counselling a qualified Psychiatrist .

Both of you have to discuss the problem with open mind and positive approach. .It is not a big issue and can be resolved with appropriate treatment .
