My girlfriends periods got over on 24th November, we had sex on 28th November. She took an ipill an hour later. She got slight bleeding frm 3rd December I.e 6 days after taking ipill. There is still light bleeding. She has normal period cycle and her periods last for 3-4 days. Today is 5th December.. when will the bleeding stop? Do we need to worry? PLEASE REPLY ASAP
I-pill is an emergency birth control pill which contains Levenorgestrel . Levenorgestrel is a progestational medicine, hence it is known to cause some bleeding few days after its consumption. This is a withdrawal bleeding to the medicine. You need not be worried about this bleeding. It will be over in a day or two.
Moreover her expected menses may be delayed by few days due to I-pill. Not an issue of concern.
To avoid such stressful situations in future, please adopt reliable contraceptive methods like condom, birth control pills or intrauterine device in future.
Hope this helps you.
