Hallow Dear,
I hope you have taken the
Plan B emergency
contraceptive post coital pills within 72 hours of the unprotected sex. They are effective if taken within this period only. If you have consumed them within stipulated time, you are protected against
pregnancy.
Few days after consumption of these pills, some withdrawal bleeding is expected, which you have got. It is not an issue of concern.
After these pills, the following period does get delayed by few days to a week's period. You have taken the pills twice. So delay in menses is expected. You should get menses within a week's time. Still if you do not get them, you may confirm the status by pregnancy test on overnight first morning urine sample of
Beta hCG test on the blood.
If you are pregnant (which is a remote possibility) and do not want to continue the pregnancy, you may opt for medical termination of pregnancy. If you are not pregnant, you need not take any action; you would get menses eventually.
Repeated use of such emergency contraceptive pills is not advocated neither it is safe. After all they are emergency pills and nor regular pills. Hence, if you are having regular sexual relations, please adopt some reliable safe contraceptive method like birth control pills, condom or
intrauterine device. The last will provide you ongoing continuous hassle free contraceptive protection. I would advise you to use condom also as an additional dual protection which will provide you additional protection against some sexually transmitted infections including
HIV.
I hope this helps you.
