Does Delay In Periods Indicate Pregnancy?
Hello I am worried about the risk of pregnancy as I am 5days late. I had unprotected oral and manual sex but did not go all the way a month ago just after my period had finished. I have had no side effects indicating the pill is working and the pregnancy tests so far have been negative but I'm worried as I have been having much heavier discharge than normal since a wweek after the pill so that every time I think I have finished ovulating and my period is coming the discharge comes back again. Is this just a reaction to the pill? Also when can I go to the doctors for a blood test? If I am pregnant but home tests are not showing it I am near 5 weeks and I worry that if I wait until I am confirmed it will be too late for a medical abortion.

At the outset, let me assure you that only oral sex and manual handling (body play) do not result into pregnancy. It requires an insertional sexual intercourse for deposition of semen into vagina to cause pregnancy. Moreover, there is no egg present immediately after the period. The egg is released 14 days prior to the next expected menses.
Also, I gather from your information that you have taken some pill after the incidence. If it is post coital emergency contraceptive pill consumed within 72 hours of the unprotected sex, it does give protection from the pregnancy. Also it is known to delay menses by few days to a week or so.
If it is a routine oral contraceptive pill, it contain a hormone Oestrogen which does increase the vaginal mucous discharge. You need not be concerned about it.
Pregnancy test 5 days after missing a period is fairly reliable; however if you wish to, you may repeat it after 4 days. Blood test for Beta hCG can be performed any day 10 days after last unprotected intravaginal sex.
Medical abortion can safely be performed up to 9 gestational weeks of pregnancy. So if at all you are pregnant, you are not at all late for it.
