Does Diabetes Cause Severe Diarrhea?

I have been having diarrhea for over a week and I am trying to get into my doctor tomorrow. I saw diabetics can have problems with diarrhea. I have never heard that? I have had diabetes 35 years. since 1982. I am 70 years old. I have been taking Imodium. Thank you. Need some suggestions. Treba Fisher
