Does Difficulty In Swallowing And Throat Pain Need Medical Attention?

Yesterday evening I notice my throat felt swollen and tight and it hurt to swallow, it was worse this morning and the pain has traveled up behind my nose. It hurts most when I m lying down, exercising and worst when I m trying to eat. Should I seek further medical attention or ride it out?

Hello,
you should consider a visit to your doctor for at least a strep test. These symptoms could be viral and would just need time to feel better. Relief with antiinflammitory medication, keeping well hydrated and rest may be all you need. Your doctor can provide a diagnosis and prescription medication if needed. Be concerned if condition worsens. Be concerned if a fever develops and lasts for multiple days.
Thank you for your inquiry.
