Hi,
Paracetamol belongs to a group of drugs called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. The component is
acetaminophen. Paracetamol is commonly prescribed to treat mild to moderate pain, to reduce body temperature in fever. Side effects of paracetamol are
allergic reaction, if allergic to the medicine earlier itself, flushing,
hypotension and
tachycardia on giving paracetamol intravenous infusion, gastritis, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.
The side effects mentioned will not be there in all individuals. The effects may vary among individuals. Daily dosage in adults is up to 3.25 gram/day. Under doctor's supervision, the dose may increased up to 4 gram/day. Since, the dose prescribed is within normal limits, the side effects may or may not be there. Take soft food. Drink plenty of fluids.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
