I think I had food poisoning a few days ago, maybe from undercooked bacon. I got nauceous and tried to sleep alot..I have been weak..but everyday I get stronger..my problem is I seem to still be a bit unsteady but mostly have double vision, esp when looking at a small screen like cell phone or laptop & when watching tv,I see double writing on the screen. It has been about 5 days..I dont have double vision when looking, just when a screen is involved but I do feel a little dizzy still. I am eating ok,Can u plse let me know if time will help with my vision? I heard about eye swelling w/food poisoning, so hoping it will get bettert\ in time w/o intervention. I had food poisoning last yr, but by day 5 was ok, and no prob w/vision.Thx 4 ur help..I am 65, so dont heal like a younger person.
To say but in my practice, I have never heard about eye swelling with food poisoning.
Maybe you mean optic neuritis that is optic nerve swelling but that doesn't cause double vision dear that causes a complete loss in one eye which recovers slowly but not completely with steroids.
Double vision usually occurs due to paresis or paralysis of a nerve supplying the muscle and we need to find out the nerve and the cause.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
