I am 31 years old, 5ft 4inc - with infertility issues - after 10 years of trying and num cycles of clomid, iui and ivf all unsuccesful, we conceived naturally at the beg of the yr but later miscarried. We then fell pregnant a month later. The DR put me on duphaston 10mg twice a day until week 13. I have had mixed reviews on this as this is discontiuned in the UK. Is this safe and are any birth defects known from taking duphaston in early pregnancy! I have had my NT scan and risk was very low.
Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion duphaston is a progesterone hormone .It is prescribed in those with previous history of miscarriages which are suspected to be caused due to hormonal insufficiency. It doesn't have any sideeffects. It doesn't harm the fetus. It can be safely taken.Dont worry.
