Does Elevated Ammonia Level Cause Liver Cirrhosis And Hepatitis C?
My husband is an alcoholic.Just found out his ammonia level is 190 and dr put him on lactulose 3 teaspoons twice a day.Do we need to see if he has Cirrosis of the liver? I just read that could causes hepatitis C.Having sex with him can i get Hepatitis C?
But hepatitis c is infection which is not spread through alcohol and if he is not suffering from hepatitis c then it wont affect you.
So amonia is only marker of liver toxicity and require treatment.
Total abstinence of alcohol is advisable.
