I have gone through your query. Your son had Epstein-Barr virus infection previously. Usually virus go in latency after the treatment and can recur in future. EB virus affect middle age persons mainly. Yes, EB virus is associated with myocarditis leading to irregular heart beat. As your son has no other symptoms apart from irregular heart beat, his cardiologist asked you for follow up after a year. You tell him about EB virus infection and wait for Holter monitor report. Doctor will guide you properly after the results.
