Does Fraternal Twins Comes From Mother S Line And No Men Involved?

I keep hearing that all fraternal twins come straight through the mother s line, no men involved in passing the gene to a daughter. I understand that concept, but can it happen any other way. For example, my paternal great grandmother had two sets of fraternal twins. My grandfather was one of the twins. Could he have passed the hyper ovulation gene on to my dad, my dad passed it to me, and then could I pass it to my son, then could he pass it to his daughter. Then could that daughter have hyper ovulation? I know this sounds crazy but I was wondering.

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Fraternal twins occur due to fertilization of two different ova by different sperms.
These are not alike than two siblings born at different times.
In these cases genes are passed from maternal & paternal lines equally.
I hope your query has been answered.
Take care
