i have suffered from upper right side pain for several months. the pain is worse when i eat greasy foods. the pain is somewat burning, throbbing, very uncomfortable at times. i had ultrasound - normal; hida test-normal. pcp says referring me to GI doctor. what do i have to look forward to? thanks.
I would suggest you to - - Have a diet rich in fibres - Avoid fatty and greasy food - Drink loads of water - I would also start tablet Pantoprazole to prevent bloating - Get a upper GI endoscopy done to rule out peptic ulcer disease.
Do not worry.
I would suggest you to visit a gastroenterologist. He/she can examine you and correlate clinically. Further tests may be required like MRCP or a CT-scan of the abdomen to delineate the exact cause.
Hope this helps. Have a nice day. Regards.
