Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
As a child, I heard that some older women (perhaps in stages of slowly progessive heart failure) need to keep their arms lower than their heart when tasking. I am older now, with multiple chronic conditions, and I can't work very long with my arms higher than my heart because my arms get weak. I know I'm not in the best of health. The doctor went ahead and got an echocardiogram done and we are waiting for the results. But all the doctors tell me that the heart has nothing to do with arm weakness when working with arms higher than the heart (or arms extended, like during the "Our Father" at church). Am I wrong to think it's probably my heart? I can do aerobics.
