Does Heart Rate Increases When Suffering From Cold Or Virus?
Does heart rate increase with a virus or cold?I have aches in my collar bone area from the neck to almost the shoulder joint on the LHS and my fingers feel cold and I have been shivering . My blood pressure is 117 over 83 with a hb of 93. My normal BP is around 106 over 60 and a HB of 68?
Hello. Thank you for your question and welcome to HCM. I understand your concern.
During inflammatory/infectious states in the organisms a lot of changes may develop. There is a hyperdynimac "work" of the organism to fight the offending agent/phenomenon. The body's centre of termoregulation is in the highest controlling area of the brain - the hypothalamus. In every infectious state, that is accompanied with fever, there will also be an increased, higher than personal average, heart rate. This happens to anybody. With the resolving of the infection, and when fever comes back down, so does the increased heart rate. Anyway, I would like to point out that blood pressure normal figures are 100-139/60-89 mmHg and normal heart beat is 60-100 beats per minute. My opinion is that there is nothing to worry about the heart, per se. It is secondary to the infection this organism is suffering.
I hope I was helpful. Good day. Wish you a good health.
Dr. Meriton
