Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I know someone who had a hernia. The belly button was swollen (outward) and had redness around it. Last year they diagnosed him with a hernia. More recently, it got swollen and started bleeding. In addition, he was vomiting blood along with blood in stool. Could this be complications from the hernia?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, in case of umbilical hernia blood stain stool may be possible but this is very rare condition and demands immediate medical attention this is an emergency, vomiting is not due to hernia (hemoptysis) if this is so then it may be due to something else, hope this information helps, take care.
