email address: YYYY@YYYY I am a 56 year old female. I have struggled with weight most of my adult life. I was recently prescribed Atenolol 25 mg once a day for high blood pressure. Since August, I have lost 35 pounds. My current blood pressure is an average of 115/59. Should I contact my doctor to see if this is too low, or should I not be concerned with this measure?
Hi thanks for asking question. With medication your blood pressure is in ideal range.... If you feel hypotension sometime then at that time take some salty food....
Now you can consult doctor for maintainence dose of medicine. Usually drug is not stopped.Maintainance dose need for life time... Meanwhile continue with life style changes.
Take care. I hope your concern solved.
