First of all, I want to reassure you that sexual activity between partners of either sex is not physically harmful in any way as long as the sexual activity does not physically or emotionally hurt you. Certainly kissing cannot transmit any form of sexually transmitted infections or cause any type of medical disease.
In women who have sex with women, sexual contact between the genitals can spread certain types of sexually transmitted infections. These include vaginal infections such as yeast and bacteria, or other skin genital diseases such as herpes and genital warts.
If you begin to commence (genital) sexual activity whether with a male or female partner, I recommend visiting a women's healthcare provider for a physical evaluation as part of recommended preventive health care. Women should begin having Pap smears for prevention of cervical cancer at age 21 or evaluation for sexually transmitted infections.
I hope I was able to adequately answer your question at this time, and I hope this information was helpful.
Best wishes,
Dr. Brown.
