Does Impetigo Look Black Blue And Bruised After Scratching And Does It Spread ?
My son was diagnosed with impetigo about a month ago at the emergency room they prescribed him an antibiotic and a cream which really didn't do much about a month later I travel down to Atlanta which is in my son resides and made an appointment with a primary care physician she didn't say whether or not it was impetigo she just said it's a little strange for it to still be there she prescribed a stronger antibiotic for resistant strain of bacteria and a stronger cream for him to use. She also took blood work and I'm waiting for the results of that my question is the impetigo looks black blue and bruised from him scratching so much and spreading it throughout the upper part of his legs and now I can see it on his stomach a little bit he also has a large swollen lymph node in his neck is that normal

I can understand your concern for the blister, filled with yellow pus oozing in your son.
It appears form your query that your son has developed secondary infection at the affected region. This area is quite common to get infected very easily because of sweating and high bacterial proliferation.
I suggest you to give him oral antibiotic such as ciprofloxacin or cefadroxyl 500 mg or higher antibiotics two times a day for 5 days under medical guidance to prevent secondary infection. For time being period you can apply antibiotic cream such as fucidin or mupirocin and take pain killer tablets such diclofenac or paracetamol.
Do not try to even touch or pinch the area as can cause more aggravation of the problem and spread of the infection.
If it is increasing despite the treatment then meet a dermatologist or any family physician and get a proper treatment without delay
