Does Increase In Eltroxin Dosage Causes Weight Loss?

I have been on Eltroxin for three or four years now for Hashimotos. Initially starting with 50mcg however earlier this year my doctor doubled the dose to 100mcg because of changes in blood tests. I am wondering if this is too high for me, as I have lost weight (4 or 5 lbs) and am very slender normally and any weight loss is not good for me. I have not been feeling so good lately not actually depressed but not exactly happy either and wonder if these symptons are a reaction to the increase in the Eltroxin dosage. I am female and aged 62 years.

I understand your concern.
If the dose of Eltroxin is higher than required, you could lose weight and have emotional changes. However there are other causes that can make one lose weight including autoimmune diseases, anxiety and depression.
You should have your Thyroid Function Tests done and that would show whether the dose of Eltroxin is right for you.
