Does Increased Dose Of AKT Cause High Temperature?

A patient is on AKT and had a break for just two days and again put on AKT now with a higher dose of AKT . Patient is having a Temperature 101 since last 5 to 6 days, what can be the reason and what is the line of treatment now is recommended ? Hiten Shah

Hello,

It is unlikely that the AKT is causing the increase in temperature. It is possible that the patient has another infection as well. I would suggest he / she keeps track of the temperature and other symptoms like cough, cold, vomiting, burning while urinating, etc. Take paracetamol for the fever. The antibiotics as part of AKT should take care of the infection too.
