Does Interstitial Lung Disease Cause Shortness Of Breath?

Hi, I have been having severe shortness of breath. I just looked over results from the test in fall of 2015. They diagnoses were Interstitial Lung Disease. Will this be causing me discomfort? I have treament with Humira since 2004. What do you suggest? I was never told about this diagnoses and this feels like it s in my chest between my breast.

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is usually chronic, progressive lung disease.
So your current shortness of breath is mostly due to ILD only.
You should get done PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) and HRCT thorax annually (once a year) to know the progression of the disease.
So at present, consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system, PFT and CT scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
