hello my name is denice and Im 46 yrs of age and I haven't had a cycle since oct but, on yesterday I came on my cycle and my bleeding is extremely heavy...soaking @least 3 pads every 30 mins....with heavy bleeding like that does it mean that my iron is low??? my doctor prescribe me with prenatal pills and ferrous sulfate
Hello Welcome yo HCM women have very different type hormones deviation at different ages. Ladies reaches their menopause after 48 or 50 and you are 46, at your age female hormones differ alot and you have very irregular cycle or sometime missing periods. The heavy flow you are facing happens in lady and require internal check up for the status of your uterus and sometime these signs in future advice you hystectomy. You should continue with your medicine what doctor has prescribe and this heavy flow is not due to iron deficiency. Thank you
HI, i understand your concerns. Iron deficiency does not cause heavy bleeding but heavy bleeding causes iron deficiency . Continue taking the tablets and get a sonography done to find cause of heavy bleeding
