Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
In July my 71 yr old husband was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. I am taking care of him. He is a veteran and they suggested Hospice. However, he does not feel that he is ready for Hospice and doesn t want it. He is able to get around, go to bathroom on his own, takes showers, but I stand nearby. He is on pain medications, but spaces them further apart then what they state he can take them. He has lost a lot of weight, but seems to be holding at the same for the past 2 weeks. Sometimes he eats good and other times not so good. He is having dark green stools but I am giving him Iron pills and thought that might be the cause of the green stools.
