Does Irregular Period Suggest Pregnancy?

Ok I havn't had my period yet and its realy scaring me. Mine have never been irregular to start with but I was wondering if it was possible to get pregnant without actually having sex. I read somewhere that its possible. Well I hadn't used tampons before until here recently and it was kinda difficult to use them so when I wasn't on my period I tried to practice and succeded. But I was wondering if any of this had to do with my irregular periods and is there any chance someone could get pregnant when hey havnt had sex yet.

Hallow Dear,

Pregnancy without insemination is utterly impossible. Insemination by and large (except some Artificial Reproductory Techniques) takes place by sexual intercourse. Hence you can rest assured. You cannot be pregnant without having any sexual intercourse.

So far you were regular in your periods. So this time delay could be due to one of the many causes which include hormonal imbalance, Thyroid dysfunction, stress (physical or mental), etc..

Since this is the first ever incidence of delayed menses, you may take some progesterone preparation like Deviry for 5 days; then you will get menses within 4-7 days.

If the pattern repeats even during next menses, you may get your Thyroid function test (T3, T4, TSH) and Reproductory hormonal profile done. Repetition of the similar irregularity invites reporting to Gynaecologist for further work up. Minor hormonal imbalance can be managed by cyclical birth control pills for 3 months.

I hope this helps you today to get rid of your anxiety.
