hi just wanted to ask i had sex with my girlfriend last week as next few days after she said she thinks shes getting thrush as she said she feels ichy and has a discharge i also feel ichy and red and also have a creamy white discarge around the shaft of my penis ,is it thrush or somethink else she has took thrush cream and tab but she still is haveing creamy lumpy discarge and is ichy.

This is most likely candidal in etiology; candidal vulvovaginitis and candidal balanitis. It is important to treat both the partners simultaneously. I would suggest that you talk to your doctor for a confirmatory diagnosis as well as for the needful. If I was the treating doctor I would have treated both of you with a single dose of an oral antifungal e.g fluconazole. This alone is usually effective in curing the infection. Topically you may use an OTC topical antifungal e.g clotrimazole 1% cream, twice daily for a week. Your girlfriend may use candidal vaginal tablets once daily for 7 days. It is advisable to avoid sexual contact for a week till the condition gets better.
