Does Kissing Expose One To HIV Infection?

Dear Doctor, Last year match i ignorantly had a brief kissing with a local sex worker. I did not know actually if there was any blood but i remember that i tasted a bit of her saliva. I have tested for hiv since 8 weeks of the exposure till 9 months using 5 rapid tests, two hiv ab and p24 antigen combo tests at 4 months and 6 months respectively.Again with 3 Elisa tests at 6 months, 7 months and 8 months. At 9 months i have done ELFA and another rapid tests but still worried, just because i had sex with my wife after the 3 months tests and our nursing baby of 1 yr had pneumonia last 2 months and it is creating a fear and anxiety to me.

Hi, Thanks for using HCM
In My opinion you should stop worrying firstly. It is highly unlikely that you would have been infected through receiving oral sex. There is no evidence that HIV is transmitted this way, the primary reason being that saliva is not a fluid that transmits HIV. Furthermore, your test results have been negative persistently so you are definitely not HIV positive. Don't lose sleep over this. Take care as its the stress that has got you over .
