Does Leaving Foreskin Pulled Back Cause Swelling Of Foreskin?

Hi my 12 year old son tore his frenulum while taking a shower. Bleeding has stopped, but there is is swelling of the foreskin. We kept his foreskin pulled back overnight after applying neosporin. Is the swelling of the foreskin due to leaving the foreskin pulled back for hours? Should retract his foreskin back over the penis head and just make sure we clean the area several times a day?

Hello,

Since there is swelling there, it means that there's injury & pain. You are suggested to get your son clinically examined by a GP to rule out infection, phimosis or balanitis. He may need some pain killers or antibiotics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
