Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. In the past two years, I have had two surgeries to remove a disc herniation. The herniation (L4/L5) had been severly pinching my nerve. My last operation was 12 months ago, but I m still dealing with nerve pain. I also fractured the anterior process of L4. I have tried epidural and nerve root block shots. Neither worked to relieve the pain. I have also tried Gabapentin, Lyrica, and Cymbalta (all prescribed for nerve pain). I m on morphine for the pain and would like to know if long term use has negative side effects.
