Does Low Blood Sugar Level And Less Urination In A 92-year-old Require Immediate Medical Attention?
My mother (92) has low blood sugar, no fever, and not urinating enough. She is an invalid and we are unable to get out yet due to the ice/snow storm we just got. Worried as it is a weekend and don t know if this is something that needs urgent attention. She was just released Mon from the hospital for a UTI, pneumonia, and stroke.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Low blood sugar patient may go hypoglycemia with hypoglycemic encephalopathy. Urine retention may be due to acute urinary infection or prostatomegaly etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.
Please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Take care
