Does Lupus Anticoagulant Affect Pregnancy?

Hi, I am 32 yr female. Trying to conceive. I have low grade Lupus Anticoagulant. taking Ecospirin 75 mg daily and HCQS 400 mg daily. Folic Acid supplement. I also have Rheumatoid Arthiritis ( active ). My question is will Lupus anticoagulant interfere in me trying to conceive?

Hi Rosh, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Lupus anticoagulant and rheumatoid arthritis do not decrease the infertility, rather it increases the chances of miscarriage, intrauterine growth restriction, or sudden intrauterine death. Therefore, once you are pregnant, you need to be given heparin injection to maintain the good supply for fetus and hence to decrease the chances of adverse pregnancy outcome.
