Does Marijuana Affect Full Recovery From Transverse Myelitis?

Hello i'm a 16 year old male and have made a miraculous but not full recovery from transverse myelitis. I was paralyzed from the waist down for 5 days but managed to walk with assistance on my 6th day at the hospital. (not to mention the terrible pain those first five days) I have now been out of the hospital for a week and wondered if the use of marijuana would affect my chances of making a full recovery as I am an avid soccer player and would be extremely disappointed if I could not play again.

Hi,

It is great that you have recovered so much from transverse myelitis. Regarding use of marijuana in your convalescence, I would suggest that it would be more sensible to stay away from it. There is no authentic from clinical trials to study effects of marijuana use in transverse myelitis and so it will be better that you do not do anything to jeopardize your recovery.

Best wishes.
