Does Marriage Between Blood Relatives Cause Health Complication In The Offspring?
Hai doctor, I have married to my uncles daughters daughter. Her blood group is O + and me is A+ . My daughter is O+. Npow there is proposal for my daughter from my sisters son.He is b- and my sister is A+. Is there any problem occurs my daughter or her child due to this marriage?. kindly advise.
Hello, I'd be happy to answer your question. There is nothing about such a marriage that would pose a health problem to your daughter. The blood typing/group is not really this issue in close blood relative marriages.
The issue however comes with any child that may come from the marriage. The problem is that when close relatives marry, there is no diluting of the genetic pool and as such recessive genes/traits that would normally be silenced are brought to the surface. This is not a huge possibility, but a significantly greater likelihood than if she married someone who was not a direct blood relative.
I hope this helps.
