Does Norethisterone Affect The Implant If There Is Unprotected Sex?
Hey I have an implanon for 2 and half years. In the last 2 months I have been on the mini pill cerelle to try and regulate my periods. But 4 days ago I stop the mini pill because of irregular bleeding and yesterday my gp gave me norethisterone to stop the bleeding. Does this affect the implant if I have unprotected sex or do I need to use condoms?
Hello, Thanks for choosing healthcare magic for your query...
I just want to tell you any medication you mentioned is not going to alter the efficacy of Implanon. It's just been 2 and half years old ,you can use it upto 3 yrs. So just confirm the expiry date otherwise no need to worry about pregnancy.
Implanon has known and common side effect of change in bleeding pattern so I am doubtful why you need treatment for irregular menses when culprit can be implanon . S there any other reason that has been told to you.
Again I want to mention about minipill or any contraceptive pill , you can't stop in between before completing it's one cycle unless side effect is intolerable.
In my opinion do visit nearby good Gynaecologist and solve all hormonal intake ...as you are on three hormones...
I hope this helps...
In case of any further queries feel free to ask...
