Does Pigmentation Cause Skin Cancer?

Hello,

Im an african american and their is skin pigmenation that is a form of a dot on my right cheek. Its lighter than the rest of my face. I just wanted to know if this is a cause of skin cancer. No other part of my body has this . Also is their a way for it to go away.

This sounds like an area of vitiligo which isn't cancer or pre-cancerous.

It can be treated with a cortisone cream but you should have your doctor look at it first

Hello. This is called vitiligo and in isn't cancer or precancerous. Cortisone creams and UV light treatments can help with it.
