Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 22 years old, I was outside earlier in practically the woods in Tennessee, when a bat swooped down while it was chasing a moth, and ran into the back of my neck and missed the moth. I can feel bites but I cant see them, should I go to the hospital?
Bats can transmit dangerous diseases like rabies. It is important that you go to hospital and get examined. If you are not sure of the type of bat which might have bitten you then taking a course of anti rabies vaccine is advised. Please remember that rabies is an untreatable condition and vaccination for suspected infection is safe.
