Does Quitting Chewing Tobacco Helps To Control Blood Sugar Level?

My brother realized after being in the hospital that his blood sugar wa
s way lower and the difference was the lack of chewing tabacco. Do you know how much quitting the chewing tabacco may help with his now uncontrollable blood sugar? Is there some research or information I can give him on this topic

yes, what your brother realized is true.in several studies,it has been proved that nicotine raises blood sugars.on cessation of smoking or any kind of nicotine intake,it will lead to hypoglycemia which will be settled in few days.but during this initial stages of cessation,it is advisable to take juices, and to have frequent divided meals.this will help your brother to cope up with the low sugar and he will soon be going to normal diet and routine, usually within few days.
it is best to quit nicotine or smoking altogether if he is a diabetic, because apart from uncontrolled blood sugars smoking leads to diabetes related complications like stroke and heart problems.
